- “Pop Music”: Bubble wrap squares were spread out on the floor. When the music played, students walked/danced around. When the music stopped, each student found his or her square to stand on and tried to pop the bubbles.
- “Spin Art with a Twist”: Students used a salad spinner, paper plates, tempera paint (thinned with water) as well as oil paint (i.e., tempera paint mixed with vegetable oil) to create colorful designs. Since oil and water don’t mix unusual effects appeared in front of our eyes.
- Featured Activity "Amazing Bubbles": Students sampled different ways to make bubbles of different sizes and colors, using strawberry baskets, wands, pipe cleaners, and funnels.
Amazing Bubbles Recipe:
2 1/2 quarts water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup liquid dish detergent (use scented one to stimulate sense of smell)
Add food coloring to dye bubble solution
Cooperative Play Idea: Students partner up, one child produces bubbles while the other tries to pop/catch the bubbles.
